Thursday was ruled by a King and a Madbum

After Wednesday's hit parade, Thursday was ruled by pitchers - specifically, a King and a MadBum.

"King" Felix Hernandez and Madison Bumgarner were two of the three highest rated fantasy players yesterday and their exploits on the mound vaulted the Lower Haighters and Twinkle Toes back into contention in their respective series.

Check out these lines: Hernandez tossed a complete game shutout, giving up just five hits and one walk, while striking out 13. Bumgarner tossed a one-hit, complete game shutout, allowing just two walks while striking out eight. Sensational.

Twinkle Toes 5, The Bulls 5

While the King and MadBum were great, they weren't the day's highest rated player. That honor went to Ian Kinsler. The second baseman for Twinkle Toes went 4 for 5, scored three times and picked up two valuable stolen bases. He was supported by Cliff Pennington and Alejandro De Aza who both went deep. Mike Adams and Jon Rauch earned holds, with the only blemish being an earned run allowed by closer Brett Myers. For the Bulls, Hunter Pence homered while Marco Scutaro and Carlos Gonzalez each scored twice with Gonzalez also driving in two runs. Colby Rasmus swiped a base. Chris Capuano earned a quality start but Wei-Yen Chen gave up six runs over 6.1 innings to hurt the team ERA. Joaquin Benoit and Scott Downs anchored the bullpen, recording holds. This series has been defined by great pitching and two more starters take the mound tonight, Ian Kennedy for the Toes and Jason Marquis for the Bulls.

Give it a Yankee 7, Lower Haighters 5

The winning formula is simple for the Lower Haighters, support a powerful offense with one of the league's best bullpens and hope the starting pitchers don't screw up the ERA and WHIP. It worked Thursday, as the team moved back into contention against Give it a Yankee when six relievers combined to pitch 6.2 innings of shutout ball, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out six. Joe Nathan, Addison Reed, and Ernesto Frieri all earned saves. Starter Ivan Nova did his part, allowing just one run over 7.1 innings. The pitching staff finished Thursday with a 0.39 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 24 strikeouts. Offensively, Albert Pujols scored three times and Coco Crisp stole a base. David Wright and Michael Morse remained hot for Give it a Yankee. Each hit a home run and they drove in five of the team's six RBI. Friday will be a bullpen night, as neither team has a starter on the mound.

Marin Menehunes 6, Jersey Boys 4

Max Scherzer seems to have figured it out for the Menehunes. He had another strong outing Thursday, striking out seven while giving up just two runs over six innings for another quality start. Unfortunately, the bullpen didn't support him. Matt Belisle and Jason Grilli had holds but Casey Janssen, Tom Gorzelanny and Grilli each gave up a run. Offensively, Josh Reddick and Asdrubal Cabrera both homered, Rajai Davis stole a base, and Cabrera drove in three runs. For the Jersey Boys, Joel Hanrahan earned a save but the team finds itself in an unusual situation - it's being challenged for bullpen supremacy in this series. Offensively, Jeff Mathis went yard and scored three times while J.J. Hardy also went deep. The Jersey Boys have an opportunity to tie the Quality Start category tonight when Justin Verlander, R.A. Dickey, and Aaron Harang pitch.

A-Rod's Mirrors 6, The Cys 4

It was a tough day at the plate and on the mound for the Cys Thursday. Edwin Jackson allowed eight runs in three innings, blowing up the team ERA and WHIP. A.J. Burnett walked a fine line but earned a quality start, allowing three runs over 6.2 innings. At the plate, the team scored four runs but drove in just one RBI. Brandon Belt, Matt Treanor, and Ichiro Suzuki combined to go 1 for 11 with six strikeouts. For the Mirrors, Tim Byrdak earned an important hold in relief and Jose Valverde added a save. Bryce Harper was the star offensively, hitting a home run, driving in two runs, and scoring twice. Pedro Alvarez also went deep. The Mirrors will send Mike Leake to the mound tonight with an opportunity to break the Quality Start deadlock.

Bacon at Mile 11 8, Scully's Slammers 4

Bacon is on the verge of the week's biggest upset. On Thursday, J.J. Putz and Bobby Parnell each had a save to grab the category lead. At the plate, Ryan Zimmerman drove in two more runs while Mike Trout hit a home run and drove in two RBI. The Slammers lost an opportunity to build on its Quality Start lead when James Shields was touched for four runs over 7.2 innings. Mark Teixeira led the offense with a home run while Edwin Encarnacion scored twice. Cliff Lee and Ervin Santana will pitch tonight for Bacon with an opportunity to take the Quality Start lead. Ross Detwiler will defend the category for the Slammers.

Los Coche Bomba 7, Vicious Fishes 3

The Fishes were bombed on the mound and whiffed at the plate Thursday. Dan Haren allowed six runs over six innings while closer Rafael Betancourt allowed a run and blew a save in relief. The offense was anemic, scoring just two runs. Paul Konerko and Nelson Cruz each struck out twice. Miguel Cabrera hit a home run and drove in two runs for Bomba while Jimmy Rollins stole a base. Matt Harrison will start tonight for Bomba while David Price and Jake Arrieta will pitch for the Fishes.

High Cheese 8, Home Run 101 4

Mark Trumbo supplied all the offense for High Cheese Thursday, literally. Trumbo's home run and three RBI was the only scoring for the team. Dayan Viciedo and Ian Desmond both hit home runs for Home Run 101, driving in five of the team's six RBI. On the mound, Johnny Cueto had a quality start for Home Run 101. Adam Wainwright will toe the rubber for High Cheese tonight while Josh Johnson pitches for Home Run 101.

The Machine 11, HUMA 1

Joey Bats and Big Papi could make HUMA a Wooden Spoon contender before this week is over. Jose Bautista hit another home run Thursday and now has three homers, six RBI and five runs scored in the series. David Ortiz has three home runs, eight runs scored, and four RBI. Shin-Soo Choo added a home run Thursday. HUMA is keeping the RBI category close thanks to Adrian Beltre, Josh Hamilton, and Jason Kuble, who each plated two Thursday. Reliever Robbie Ross added an important hold but Craig Stammen allowed a run in relief. The Machine can add to its Quality Start and Strikeout lead tonight when Matt Cain takes the mound.

Lopsided MLB scores impact Week 13 series

Lopsided scores Wednesday in Major League Baseball led to some crazy fantasy baseball results.

The Rangers scored 13 runs against the Tigers keyed by David Murphy's two home runs, five RBI, and three runs scored. While Murphy's performance is a boon for A-Rod's Mirrors, it was a disaster for Detroit pitcher Doug Fister and HUMA. Fister wore eight runs over 4.1 innings.

It was worse in Chicago, where the Cubs were blasted 17-1 by the Mets. Dan Murphy feasted on Chicago pitching, going 3 for 5 with two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored for the Bulls. The Mirrors avoided Jeff Samardzija's disaster on the mound (nine runs over 4.1 innings) when it wisely benched the struggling starter.

The Nationals scored 11 runs in Colorado as third baseman Ryan Zimmerman continued to heat up for Bacon. Zimmerman was 2 for 4 with three RBI and his second homer in as many days. Likewise, Adam Dunn had a big day in Chicago's 12-5 rout of the Twins. The Big Donkey went 3 for 5 with a home run and four RBI.

Wednesday's high scores and bountiful fantasy league harvest will define Week 13.

The Machine 11, HUMA 1

While hitters were hot around the Majors Wednesday, HUMA's lineup was ice cold. Nine starters accounted for just six hits, three runs, and three RBI. Josh Hamilton was 0 for 4 with four strikeouts. Elliot Johnson and Jason Kubel combined to go 0 for 8 with six strikeouts. While Jon Lester and Doug Fister were both hammered on the mound, Jordan Zimmerman did earn a quality start for HUMA, allowing just one run over seven innings. Jose Bautista and David Ortiz continued to terrorize HUMA, each hitting a home run for the Machine while scoring a combined six runs. Rookie Jarrod Parker was brilliant on the mound, allowing just one run over seven innings while striking out nine to earn the quality start. The 'pen was also strong as Jonathon Broxton earned a save and Francisco Rodriguez a hold, despite giving up a run.

Give it a Yankee 9, Lower Haighters 1

A big part of the Mets offensive success Wednesday can be attributed to third baseman David Wright. The veteran slugger went 2 for 3 with five RBI and two runs scored. On the mound, Jonathon Niese shut down the Cubs, allowing just one run over seven innings while striking out six. Both players were instrumental in Give it a Yankee widening its gap over the Lower Haighters. Alexis Rios also continued his hot hitting, going 3 for 5 with another homer and two RBI. Rios now has two homers, five runs, four RBI, and a stolen base in the series. Neil Walker went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and an RBI for the Lower Haighters while Coco Crisp homered and Angel Pagan knocked in two runs and stole a base. The Lower Haighters will have Felix Hernandez and Ivan Nova on the mound today and need the two hurlers to be solid if the team harbors any hope of being competitive in this series.

Los Coche Bomba 8, Vicious Fishes 3

Robinson Cano has taken over this series for Bomba. Cano went 3 for 4 with a homer, two RBI, and two runs scored Wednesday and now has a pair of homers, five RBI, and three runs scored in the first three days of Week 13. Reliever Greg Holland scored the first hold of the series for either team, striking out two in a scoreless inning. Given the issues in the 'pen for the Fishes, Holland's one hold may win the category. Andrew McCutchen was terrorizing the Fishes again on Wednesday, hitting a home run, scoring twice and knocking in two runs. While the Fishes continue to trail, Chris Sale and Tommy Hanson both had quality starts and combined to strike out 10 batters. Unfortunately, Jason Hammel, who had been very reliable, allowed eight runs in 3.1 innings. At the plate, Mike Moustakas hit a homer while Prince Fielder and Nelson Cruz each scored twice. Dan Haren will take the mound tonight for the Fishes, who could open a sizable advantage in Quality Starts.

High Cheese 8, Home Run 101 4

Wednesday was a huge day at the plate for Home Run 101. John Buck, Alcides Escobar, and Ian Desmond all hit home runs as the team tallied nine runs and seven RBI. Lucas Duda scored three times while Escobar and Desmond each crossed the plate twice. Buck drove in two runs as did Aramiz Ramirez. It was a cold night at the plate for High Cheese as the team scored twice and drove in three runs. Six starters were unable to collect a hit and the team finished the day with a .273 OBP. On the mound, Jered Weaver struck out six in a quality start for High Cheese while David Robertson and Grant Balfour both had holds and Ryan Cook earned another save. The team is winning all six pitching categories. Sergio Romo had a save for Home Run 101 and ace Johnny Cueto will take the mound tonight as the team tries to narrow the Quality Start gap.

The Bulls 7, Twinkle Toes 4

Daniel Murphy sparked the offensive rally for the Bulls Wednesday but he wasn't the only hot bat in the lineup. Ryan Theriot scored twice and Marco Scutaro drove in two runs as the team finished the day with a .357 OBP, eight RBI, and six runs scored. For the Toes, Ian Kinsler provided the offense, hitting a home run, scoring twice and driving in two. On the mound, Mike Adams earned a hold but Ubaldo Jimenez failed to get a much needed quality start for the team. That opens the door for the Bulls to take the category lead if Chris Capuano and Wei-Yen Chen pitch well tonight. Madison Bumgarner will take the mound for the Toes.

Scully's Slammers 7, Bacon at Mile 11 5

Ryan Zimmerman, Jason Heyward, and Logan Morrison all went deep as Bacon had a solid day at the plate Wednesday. The team scored eight runs as Mike Trout crossed home plate three times. It also knocked in seven RBI, led by Zimmerman's three. Justin Upton swiped a bag and the team finished the day with an impressive .488 OBP. Edwin Encarnacion homered for the Slammers while Mike Aviles drove in two runs and stole a base. Both teams had quality starts but also watched a starter struggle. Zach Greinke and Anibal Sanchez pitched well while Trevor Cahill and James McDonald gave up too many runs. Eric O'Flaherty and Jonny Venters each had a hold for Bacon but Venters allowed a run in .2 innings of work. Heath Bell rebounded from a horrendous outing Monday to earn a save for the Slammers. James Shields will pitch for the Slammers today but all eyes will be on the Major League debut of Trevor Bauer for Bacon.

Marin Menehunes 7, Jersey Boys 5

Wednesday was a tough day for the Jersey Boys. Pitcher Andy Pettitte broke his ankle when he was struck by a comebacker and will be lost for up to six weeks. Pettitte had struck out seven and was on his way to a quality start. The team also saw Ryan Ludwick hit two home runs from the bench. Sonavabench! Rickie Weeks did a hit a homer and Austin Jackson scored twice to lead the offense. Carlos Ruiz and Billy Butler both hit home runs for the Menehunes, who tallied eight RBI Wednesday. Ben Zobrist plated three of the runs. On the mound, Tim Lincecum continued to improve, pitching seven scoreless innings to earn the quality start while striking  out eight batters. Javier Lopez also recorded a hold. Starting pitching will play a crucial role in the final four days of this series. Tonight, the Menehunes will send Max Scherzer to the mound, with fingers crossed.

A-Rod's Mirrors 5, The Cys 5

Kendrys Morales and Adam Dunn drove home eight of The Cys' 12 RBI Wednesday while Jason Kipnis, Martin Prado, and Elvis Andrus each had a stolen base. The team failed to take the Quality Start lead when Matt Moore and Roy Oswalt allowed a combined nine runs. Brad Lincoln did earn the first hold of the series, giving the Cys another point. Craig Kimbrel and Rafael Soriano both had saves for the Mirrors but Soriano and setup man Chad Qualls combined to give up four runs. While Daniel Murphy supplied the bulk of the team's offense, Bryce Harper and Kyle Seager each swiped a base and Harper scored twice. Edwin Jackson and A.J. Burnett start tonight for the Cys, who will try to take the lead in Quality Starts.

Rios, Morse Power Yankee to Big Lead

Alexis Rios went 2 for 4 with a home run, a stolen base, two runs scored, and two RBI and Michael Morse was 4 for 5 with two runs scored and two RBI to power Give it a Yankee to a big lead over the Lower Haighters on Tuesday.

Give it a Yankee's lineup pounded out 15 hits, had an OBP of .425, eight RBI and nine runs scored.

Give it a Yankee 10, Lower Haighters 1

While the bats were pounding out runs, it was a hold from reliever Aaron Crow that may prove pivotal as this series continues. The Lower Haighters have built their pitching staff around a strong bullpen and not winning holds and saves is likely the difference between winning and losing a series. That was evident again Tuesday when Joe Nathan and Addison Reed recorded saves. Reed's relief work came at a cost to the Haighters, as he allowed two runs to score. Albert Pujols and Giancarlo Stanton both hit home runs as the Haighters kept the offensive categories close. Jonathon Niese will pitch today for Give it a Yankee, looking to build on growing Quality Start and Strikeout totals.

Jersey Boys 6, Marin Menehunes 6

Carlos Marmol earned a save Tuesday as the Menehunes continue to go toe-to-toe with one of the best bullpens in the league. Carlos Ruiz provided the offense, hitting a home run, scoring twice, and driving in two runs. Jonathan Papelbon earned a save for the Jersey Boys but gave up a run in the process. Freddie Freeman and Austin Jackson both scored twice while Freeman and Curtis Granderson each knocked in two runs. With the Menehunes leading the Quality Start category by one, Tim Lincecum will take the mound today. Andy Pettitte pitches for the Jersey Boys.

Los Coche Bomba 5, Vicious Fishes 4

The Fishes pounded out nine runs and seven RBI Tuesday and earned an improbable quality start from Carlos Zambrano to keep this series close. Prince Fielder and Dexter Fowler both hit home runs with Fielder driving in four RBI. Alex Gordon scored twice while Nelson Cruz stole a base. Yadier Molina and Michael Bourn both hit home runs for Bomba, with Molina plating three RBI. On the mound, Bruce Chen had a quality start and Jason Motte scored the team's second save. If the Fishes want to keep this series close - and possibly pull the upset - they'll need their three aces to pitch well today. Tommy Hanson, Jason Hammel, and Chris Sale have the opportunity to put Bomba in catch-up mode the rest of the week.

High Cheese 10, Home Run 101 2

Mark Trumbo and Jay Bruce both hit home runs to help High Cheese divert attention from a very mediocre performance on the mound Tuesday. Ace Gio Gonzalez and newly acquired Dillon Gee gave up eight runs over 11 innings while John Axford allowed yet another run in relief. The Cheese did get a quality start from Vance Worley and a save from sensational closer Tom Wilhelmsen. Home Run 101 would also like to erase Tuesday's pitching performance, as setup man Cory Wade allowed four runs while recording just two outs. For a team built around pitching, that type of disaster can be fatal in a series. Offensively, the team scored just twice and knocked in four runs, two off the bat of Ian Desmond. High Cheese will try to rebound on the mound today behind Homer Bailey and Jered Weaver.

A-Rod's Mirrors 6, The Cys 5

The Mirrors drove in eight runs and scored six more Tuesday as Adam LaRoche hit two home runs and Alex Rodriguez added a third. The big night at the plate helped the team open significant leads in the RBI and Home Run categories. On the mound, Justin Masterson failed to deliver a quality start for the Mirrors but the 'pen was air tight, as four relievers combined to toss three scoreless innings with Rafael Soriano recording a save. C.J. Wilson had a quality start for the Cys but Yu Darvish gave up four runs over seven innings, despite striking out 10. At the plate, Melky Cabrera hit a home run and five different players each scored a run. The pitching categories are extremely close in this series as rookie Matt Moore and veteran Roy Oswalt draw starts for the Cys today.

Scully's Slammers 6, Bacon at Mile 11 3

Ryan Zimmerman finally broke out of his slump for Bacon on Tuesday. The former All-Star third baseman has had a miserable season but he hit a home run and scored three times while Brendan Ryan stole a base as Bacon kept the offensive categories close. Jed Lowrie hit a home run and scored twice for the Slammers. Both teams will have a pair of starters in action today. Zack Greinke and James McDonald will pitch for the Slammers while Anibal Sanchez and Trevor Cahill start for Bacon.

The Bulls 7, Twinkle Toes 2

The pitchers took over this series Tuesday. Twinkle Toes had three quality starts, a hold, and a save while the Bulls countered with two quality starts, a hold, and a save. Tim Hudson, Bronson Arroyo, and Ryan Vogelsong pitched 22.2 innings, allowing just four runs, while striking out 14 for the Toes. Mike Adams allowed a run in relief but did earn the hold while Brett Myers earned a two-out save. For the Bulls, Jason Vargas struck out 10 and Phil Hughes pitched eight scoreless innings. Relievers James Russell and Santiago Casilla tossed 2.2 scoreless innings with Russell notching a hold and Casilla a save. Offensively, Ty Wigginton hit a home run for the Bulls while Ian Kinsler did the same for the Toes. Ubaldo Jimenez will take the mound today to try and maintain the pitching momentum for the Toes.

The Machine 7, HUMA 4

HUMA began to make up ground in the offensive categories Tuesday as Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Josh Hamilton, and Jason Kubel all hit home runs. Even with three home runs, the team had just four RBI and five runs scored. J.D. Martinez hit a home run for the Machine and drove in two runs but it was the injury to pitcher Daniel Hudson that could impact the team long term. Hudson left Tuesday's start with forearm tightness after giving up five runs in just 1.2 innings. Gavin Floyd and the bullpen rallied in Hudson's absence with Floyd pitching seven innings of shutout ball while striking out nine to earn a quality start. Relievers Matt Thornton and Antonio Bastardo each pitched a perfect inning to record holds. HUMA has an opportunity to turn this series into a dogfight as Jordan Zimmerman, Doug Fister, and Jon Lester all pitch today. If all three pitch well, the team could take the lead in both Quality Starts and Strikeouts. Rookie Jarrod Parker will try to defend the categories when he starts for the Machine.

Can Rizzo Ride to the Rescue for Home Run 101?

Can rookie first baseman Anthony Rizzo save Home Run 101's season? The young slugger will make his debut with the Cubs tonight and figures to be a fixture in the middle of Chicago's batting order for the rest of the season. If Rizzo succeeds, he could be a keeper for Home Run 101 owner Bailey Penzotti next season.

Adding Rizzo to the roster is essentially a no-risk bet for Bailey. Her team has needed a power hitter for the past two years and Rizzo is considered one of the best power hitting prospects in the minor leagues.

There's still time for Home Run 101 to make the playoffs. Beginning tonight, we'll see if Anthony Rizzo can ignite the spark that lights a fire under this team.

A-Rod's Mirrors 7, The Cys 2

Stephen Strasburg and Jake Westbrook each earned quality starts, Dustin Pedroia stole a base and scored twice, and catcher J.P. Arencibia broke out of his slump with a home run to lift the Mirrors to the early lead in this pivotal Week 13 series. The only downside to the night was a lot of swings and misses, as the Mirrors tallied 13 strikeouts, including three by Bryce Harper. It wasn't much better for the Cys at the plate, as Adam Dunn wore the Golden Sombrero with four strikeouts and the team tallied 10 Ks. Melky Cabrera was the star for the Cys Monday, going 2 for 5 with two runs and an RBI. The Cys will start C.J. Wilson and Yu Darvish tonight while the Mirrors have Justin Masterson on the hill.

The Bulls 5, Twinkle Toes 2

The Bulls started fast offensively Monday, scoring six times and driving in eight runs sparked by the red-hot Colby Rasmus. Rasmus went 3 for 5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs. Nick Hundley added two RBI and Ryan Theriot scored twice. The pitching wasn't as pretty, as Felix Doubront allowed five runs over six innings and James Russell gave up a run in relief. Seth Smith hit a home run to lead Twinkle Toes while Hector Sanchez drove in two runs. In the 'pen, Jon Rauch and Brett Myers combined to throw 1.1 scoreless innings. Both teams will be looking for their first quality start of the series tonight. Bronson Arroyo, Brian Matusz, Ryan Vogelsong, and Tim Hudson will start for Twinkle Toes. Jason Vargas and Phil Hughes will pitch for the Bulls.

The Machine 5, HUMA 5

Ricky Nolasco and Jake Peavy each earned quality starts Monday while David Ortiz belted two home runs as the Machine broke quickly out of the gates. The team hit four home runs, drove in nine runs, and scored nine times to start the series. Ortiz drove in three and scored three times while Jose Bautista continued his home run tear and Carlos Lee went long. While HUMA has some catching up to do offensively, the series is close because Mat Latos was brilliant Monday. He gave up just one run over nine innings and struck out 13 batters. At the plate, Josh Hamilton broke out of his slump with a home run and recently acquired Ben Revere stole a base. The Machine face a three Role-Aids night, as Gavin Floyd and Daniel Hudson take the mound tonight. Both pitchers have been wildly inconsistent this season.

High Cheese 7, Home Run 101 2

The bullpen went to work Monday for High Cheese. Grant Balfour, Ryan Cook, and Tom Wilhelmsen combined to pitch three scoreless innings while striking out four. Balfour earned a hold and Cook a save. At the plate, Jay Bruce drove in two runs for High Cheese while Alcides Escobar scored twice for Home Run 101. Cheese can apply some serious pressure in the pitching categories tonight when Gio Gonzalez, Vance Worley, and Dillon Gee all start.

Give it a Yankee 6, Lower Haighters 5

Luke Hochevar was lights out on the mound for Give it a Yankee Monday. He pitched a complete game shutout, striking out eight. Francisco Liriano also earned a quality start, striking out five while allowing just one run over seven innings. Give it a Yankee will start ace Clayton Kershaw tonight along with rookie Drew Smyly. The Lower Haighters continue to rely on their bullpen as Huston Street earned a save Monday. Offensively, Jose Reyes and Angel Pagan combined to drive in four runs for the Lower Haighters and score twice.

Marin Menehunes 6, Jersey Boys 5

Five pitchers combined to give up three runs over 17 innings, striking out 17 batters, earning two quality starts, a hold and a save for the Menehunes on Monday. Unfortunately, there was one more pitcher, Alex Cobb. The rookie was blasted for eight runs over eight innings, negating the brilliance of Barry Zito, Johan Santana, and relievers Casey Janssen, Matt Belisle, and Tom Gorzelanny. For the Jersey Boys, Hiroki Kuroda earned a quality start while Glen Perkins and Edward Mujica each recorded holds. Carlos Ruiz was the lone force at the plate to start the series, scoring three runs and stealing a base for the Menehunes.

Los Coche Bomba 5, Vicious Fishes 2

Pablo Sandoval, Robinson Cano, and Miguel Cabrera each plated three runs as Bomba exploded for 15 RBI on Monday. Jimmy Rollins and Yadier Molina drove in two runs apiece as they both hit home runs and the team had a .395 OBP. Rafael Furcal and Alex Gordon both scored two runs for the Fishes. Both 'pens were busy Monday, as Jason Motte earned a save for Bomba and Rafael Betancourt did the same for the Fishes. Carlos Zambrano will try to break out of his slump when he takes the mound tonight for the Fishes. Bruce Chen will start for Bomba.

Scully's Slammers 8, Bacon at Mile 11 3

What is wrong with Heath Bell? The veteran closer was shelled Monday, walking a batter, allowing three hits and giving up four runs in one inning. He finished the night with a 36.00 ERA and inflated the Slammers' team ERA to 7.71 despite a quality start from Yovani Gallardo. Offensively, Eric Hosmer hit a home run and stole a base for Bacon while outfielder Jose Tabata also went long. Neither team has a starter on the mound tonight.

Week 13 Preview: The Race for the Wooden Spoon

Now that we've passed the halfway point in the season it's time to not only look at the pennant races, but also the battle for the Wooden Spoon. Two teams familiar with the award that is annually given to the league's last place team, are trying to avoid becoming the first franchise to receive it twice.

The Vicious Fishes, the 2011 Wooden Spoon recipient, are in last place again. Rookie manager Nikhil Dinesh is learning on the job. The team hasn't won a series since Week 4. The bullpen is a mess. The starters aren't much better. Yet, the Fishes are mere percentage points behind the 15th place team, Home Run 101.

Home Run 101 was the 2010 Wooden Spoon recipient. They have also fallen on hard times, failing to win a series over the past six weeks. The offense is anemic, as the team is last in runs scored, home runs, OBP, and second to last in RBI. Manager Bailey Penzotti is desperate for a big bat.

Another team not out of the woods in this "race" is Bacon. The starting pitchers have struggled. The team is in the lower half of the league's standings in ERA, WHIP, and Quality Starts. Manager Eric Brown is hoping rookie Trevor Bauer can rectify the situation when he makes his first Major League start this week.

The race is on.

The Mirrors have won two of the three meetings including a 7-5 victory in Week 2 last year but they are sputtering heading into Week 13. The team has just one series win over the last month and its West Division lead is now down to 6.5-games over the Lower Haighters. The Cys, on the other hand, are one of the hottest teams in the league. They've won five of their past six series and are now just six games behind Bomba and have the third best winning percentage in the league. The key to the resurgence has been Brandon Belt, who has four homers and 12 RBI in his last 37 at bats. The Mirrors will ride the arm of red-hot Justin Masterson, who hasn't given up a run in his last 16 innings, and newly acquired power-hitting third baseman Pedro Alvarez, who has five homers in his last 12 games. The Mirrors hope catcher J.P. Arencibia heats up at the plate in this series. He's just 6 for 32 over his last 10 games with a .188 OBP. Likewise, Kendrys Morales has hit a cold spell for the Cys, going 5 for 34 over his last 11 games with a .147 OBP. Final Prediction: A-Rod's Mirrors 6, The Cys 6.

Twinkle Toes has won two of the three meetings but the Bulls won 8-2-2 in Week 13 last year. The Toes had won three consecutive series until last week's 4-8 loss to the Cys. They now sit third in the East Division, 13.5-games behind the Slammers. The Bulls remain at the top of the North Division standings but their lead has been trimmed to 3-games by Give it a Yankee. They lost their fourth consecutive series last week, falling 9-3 to the Slammers. The Bulls have a lengthy injury list and now have problems in the bullpen with a struggling Santiago Casilla and an injured Frank Francisco. The Toes enter the series with a first baseman who has been demoted to the minor leagues. Buster Posey and Madison Bumgarner have carried the Toes the past two weeks. Posey is 13 for 41 with three homers over his last 11 games while Bumgarner has allowed just six earned runs over his last 21.2 innings while striking out 22 batters. The Bulls will rely on the hot bat of Colby Rasmus and some free agent magic from journeyman pitcher Jason Marquis, who was added to the roster for this series. Rasmus has five home runs in his last 12 games while Marquis has three consecutive quality starts, allowing just four earned runs over his last 20.1 innings. Final Prediction: Twinkle Toes 8, The Bulls 4.

The Lower Haighters have never lost to Give it a Yankee in their three meetings. Last year's series was close, a 6-5-1 victory, in Week 8. Give it a Yankee enters Week 13 having won two of its last three series and has moved to within three games of the Bulls in the North Division. The Lower Haighters have won five of their last six series, including a 7-5 victory over High Cheese last week. They now sit second in the West Division, 6-games behind A-Rod's Mirrors. A trio of hitters has led Give it a Yankee back into the pennant race. Brandon Phillips, David Wright, and Nick Swisher have combined for six home runs, 28 RBI, and 19 runs scored over the past two weeks. The team will also have rookie pitcher Drew Smyly back in the lineup after he missed several starts with a blister on his finger. It's not clear whether Josh Beckett will be ready to return from the DL to make his start this week. There's a familiar name pushing the Lower Haighters up the standings - Ryan Braun. Last year's NL MVP has five home runs, 12 RBI and two stolen bases in his last 12 games. The team now needs young slugger Giancarlo Stanton to step up. He has just seven hits in his last 45 at bats. Final Prediction: Give it a Yankee 6, Lower Haighters 6.

Los Coche Bomba has never lost to the Vicious Fishes in their previous two meetings. Last year, they won 7-4-1 in Week 8. Bomba still has the league's best winning percentage but is now feeling some heat in the South Division pennant race. The lead is down to 6-games over the Cys, who have won five of their past six series. Meanwhile, Bomba has won just twice in the past month. Last year's Wooden Spoon recipient, the Fishes, are last again. They haven't won a series since Week 4 and have lost four consecutive, compiling a dismal 14-28 record during that time. They are 14.5-games out of first in the weak West Division. The reason for the slide has been poor pitching. Dan Haren and Carlos Zambrano have combined to give up 17 earned runs in their last 18.1 innings. The 'pen isn't much better, with Dale Thayer and Rafael Betancourt allowing seven earned runs over their last 10 appearances. The one bright spot has been Jason Hammel, who hasn't allowed a run in his last two starts. Bomba enters the series with three hot bats - Jimmy Rollins, Robinson Cano, and Andrew McCutchen. They have 10 home runs between them over the last two weeks. Final Prediction: Los Coche Bomba 6, Vicious Fishes 4.

These teams will be meeting for the third time with the Menehunes looking for their first series victory over the Jersey Boys. Last year, the Jersey Boys won 8-3-1 in Week 16. The Jersey Boys saw their three-week winning streak come to an end last week but they took the league's best team, Bomba, to the wall before succumbing, 5-7. The Menehunes won for the first time in five weeks, beating Bacon at Mile 11, 6-5-1. Both teams are in the middle of a pitched battle for the league's final playoff spot. The formula for success for the Jersey Boys is simple, ride the pitching of R.A. Dickey and Justin Verlander and the hot bats of Aaron Hill and Brett Lawrie. Dickey and Verlander have combined for five quality starts over their last six appearances while Hill and Lawrie have six home runs and 17 RBI in the last two weeks. The Menehunes will hope the magic spell they placed on Max Scherzer continues to work. The erratic hurler has three straight quality starts, striking out 27 batters in his last 20 innings pitched. Shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera is hot at the plate, belting four home runs in the last two weeks. Final Prediction: Marin Menehunes 7, Jersey Boys 5.

High Cheese has won one of the two meetings with last year's Week 6 matchup ending in a 6-6 draw. Home Run 101 is trying to break a six-week winless streak. The team has been competitive, forging a tie with two of the best teams in the league - Bomba and the Machine - the past two weeks. Is this the week they finally get a win? High Cheese has just one series victory over the last seven weeks and has fallen into the South Division cellar. The team is desperate for a series win to get back into playoff contention. For Home Run 101, the bullpen needs to rebound if the team is going to be successful. Brian Fuentes has given up five runs in his last two appearances, Randy Choate has give up five runs in his last 3.1 innings, and Cory Wade has allowed three runs in 2.2 innings. High Cheese needs some production at catcher. Ryan Doumit and Kurt Suzuki have struck out a combined 26 times in the last two weeks while driving in just two runs. Final Prediction: High Cheese 7, Home Run 101 5.

The Slammers have never beaten Bacon in three previous meetings, including a 5-7 loss in Week 17 last year, but this represents a golden opportunity as these teams head in different directions. The Slammers have won six of their past seven series, including an impressive 9-3 win over the Bulls last week. Bacon, on the other hand, has lost two consecutive series and failed to capitalize on the vulnerability of the Bulls in the North Division. While the Bulls have lost four consecutive series, Bacon remains nine games behind, third in the division and 14th overall. Now they face a team that is both hitting and pitching well. Matt Holliday and Carlos Beltran have pounded out 22 RBI in the last two weeks for the Slammers. James McDonald and Zack Greinke have struck out 28 batters in their last 29 innings and closer Tyler Clippard hasn't been scored upon in his last five appearances, earning four saves. Bacon will count on the dynamic Mike Trout to lead the way. Trout has scored 10 runs and stolen eight bases in his last 12 games. If they are going to pull off the upset, Bacon needs Dan Uggla and Ryan Zimmerman to hit. They are a combined 12 for 90 over their last 12 games with just two RBI. Final Prediction: Scully's Slammers 10, Bacon at Mile 11 2.

These teams have played three times with the Machine winning twice and the other ending in a draw. They last met in Week 4 last year when the Machine stomped HUMA 8-4. After losing three series and falling into the South Division cellar, HUMA has rallied. It hasn't lost in three weeks and is coming off a 6-6 tie with the West Division-leading Mirrors. The Machine is following a similar trajectory, losing three consecutive series before beating Give it a Yankee and drawing with Home Run 101 last week. The Machine is second in the East Division but is 9.5-game behind the Slammers and can't afford to lose more ground. HUMA has lost touch with Bomba in the South Division, trailing by 20 games, but is in the middle of a heated race for the league's final playoff berth. HUMA could be missing the exciting Jose Altuve in this series. He left Sunday's game with a strained hamstring. They are also hoping to find Josh Hamilton's missing bat. He has just six hits in his last nine games and has only three RBI. The Machine needs Ricky Nolasco and Daniel Hudson to step up. They haven't had a quality start in their last four outings, with Nolasco's ERA in his last two starts sitting at a staggering 11.57. Final Prediction: The Machine 7, HUMA 5.

Has Brandon Belt Arrived?

In February, Carla Baughman-King made a bold move to keep Brandon Belt over Mark Teixeira as a cornerstone for building the Cys in 2012. That decision is beginning to look like a good one.

Teixeira has been the better player over the course of the year, ranked 99th overall with 12 home runs, 40 RBI, and a .336 OBP. Belt, on the other hand, is ranked 254th overall after struggling to win regular at bats for the first two months of the season.

When you look at the last month, the time period in which Belt began earning regular playing time, Teixeira still has more value, hitting seven home runs and driving in 19 while Belt has four home runs and 17 RBI.

But in the lat two weeks, as Belt settled in as the starting first baseman for the Giants, he has not only outperformed Teixeira, but he's been the fifth best player in the league. All four of his home runs have come in the last two weeks, he's driven in 12 runs and has a .543 OBP. He's struck out just five times in his last 36 at bats.

If Brandon Belt has indeed arrived - and all signs indicate he has - the Cys are going to challenge Los Coche Bomba for the South Division title. It also sets up an intriguing battle between the young first baseman and the Dread Pirate, Andrew McCutchen, Bomba's most dynamic player.

The Cys beat Bomba 6-5 in their first meeting and the two teams will play again in Week 14 in what could be a showdown for the South Division lead.

The Cys 8, Twinkle Toes 3

Starting pitching has been the difference in this series. On Saturday, Edwin Jackson and Brad Lincoln both had quality starts for the Cys, combining to toss 12.1 innings, allowing just two runs, and striking out 12. At the same time, Ian Kennedy and Madison Bumgarner came up short for Twinkle Toes, allowing nine earned runs over 10.1 innings. Twinkle Toes can still make this a series, the two teams are tied in Home Runs and Twinkle Toes trails by just two in the RBI and four in the Runs categories. The Cys also cling to a one point advantage in Saves. For that to happen, everything will have to go right for the Toes today.

Los Coche Bomba 7, Jersey Boys 4

Bomba erupted for nine runs, three homers, and eight RBI Saturday while the bats went silent for the Jersey Boys. Miguel Cabrera, Jimmy Rollins, and Andrew McCutchen all went deep for Bomba, with McCutchen driving in three runs. The Jersey Boys were a miserable 3 for 41 at the plate on Saturday, but, despite the ineptitude, the series still hangs in the balance. The two teams are tied in Quality Starts with the Jersey Boys sending Justin Verlander, R.A. Dickey and Aaron Harang to the mound today. Bomba will pitch Matt Harrison and Matt Garza. The Jersey Boys trail by just one in Holds and Home Runs and by three in RBIs so Bomba still has some work to do to avoid the upset.

Lower Haighters 7, High Cheese 5

High Cheese will watch as CC Sabathia takes the mound for the Lower Haighters tonight with an opportunity to tie the Quality Start category. Both teams had excellent pitching performances Saturday, with Felix Hernandez striking out 10 to earn a quality start for the Haighters and Adam Wainwright going seven strong innings for High Cheese. Paul Goldschmidt and Adam Jones both homered Saturday to give High Cheese some breathing room in the category and Goldschmidt scored three times. The Haighters had holds from Andrew Miller and Sean Burnett and save from Addison Reed as the 'pen remained strong.

Bacon at Mile 11 6, Marin Menehunes 6

This series will come down to home runs and starting pitching on the final day. It's a long shot, but Bacon could tie the Quality Start category. The team needs Lance Lynn, Cliff Lee, and Hector Noesi to pitch well. In the process, they should also take the Strikeout category, which the Menhunes lead by seven. Bacon is clinging to a one point lead in Home Runs and a two point lead in RBI after Josh Reddick and Asdrubal Cabrera both went long for the Menehunes Saturday. Reddick also tallied three RBI. A hold by Jason Grilli moved the Menehunes in position to challenge for the category today.

A-Rod's Mirrors 6, HUMA 6

Both teams will be looking for batters to drive in runs today as the Mirrors hold a slim two point lead in the RBI category. It looks to be the only category in play on the final day. On Saturday, Dustin Pedroia broke out of his slump for the Mirrors, driving in two runs, while Jason Kubel had two RBI for HUMA. HUMA has a two point lead in Holds while the Mirrors have a two point lead in Saves so there's an outside chance the 'pens could make a difference.

Give it a Yankee 6, Vicious Fishes 5

Garrett Richards will try to defend the Quality Start category for Give it a Yankee today while David Price and Jake Arrieta start for the Vicious Fishes with an opportunity to steal the WHIP category and tie QS. Five of the six offensive categories are still too close to call and the 'pens will come into play as Give it a Yankee clings to one point leads in both Holds and Saves. It's safe to say this series is set for a wild finish on the final day.

Home Run 101 4, The Machine 3

With five categories tied entering the final day and two more up for grabs, this series is anything but settled. With Quality Starts tied, Matt Cain will pitch today for the Machine while Wade Miley throws for Home Run 101. Home Run 101 also holds a precarious three point lead in Strikeouts and the starting pitchers will figure into that category. This series became interesting Saturday when the only offense generated by the Machine was a home run from J.D. Martinez. At the same time, Home Run 101 scored nine runs, belted two homers, and drove in six. Dayan Viciedo and Jonny Gomes each went long with Viciedo driving in four runs. On the mound, Josh Johnson and Johnny Cueto each had quality starts and struck out a combined 16 batters.

Scully's Slammers 6, The Bulls 4

The teams are tied in Saves and RBI so the Bulls have an opportunity to even this series today. On Saturday, the Bulls grabbed a one point lead in Home Runs when Colby Rasmus hit a grand slam and Michael Saunders hit a solo shot. Saunders also stole two bases to give the Bulls a comfortable cushion in that category. Allen Craig hit a home run for the Slammers.

Two division leaders try to fend off barking dogs

A pair of underdogs are barking loudly heading into the final three days of Week 12. The Jersey Boys, behind the hitting of Aaron Hill and pitching of R.A. Dickey, have the league's top team, Bomba, in a dogfight. Likewise, HUMA is deadlocked with A-Rod's Mirrors, the North Division leaders, thanks to the heroics of a pair of catchers who have combined for three homers, eight runs, and six RBI in the last four days.

HUMA 6, A-Rod's Mirrors 6

HUMA only had five players in action Thursday but they were productive. Catcher Willin Rosario smacked his second homer of the series and drove in two runs while Jarrod Saltalamacchia scored twice. Relievers Craig Stammen and Octavio Dotel pitched 1.2 shutout innings with Stammen earning a hold. Quintin Berry drove in the only run for the Mirrors while Bryce Harper scored and stole a base. Reliever Josh Lindblom was rocked, allowing a three-run homer without getting anybody out. HUMA trails by four in Quality Starts but will have Jordan Zimmerman, Chad Billingsley, and Doug Fister on the mound tonight.

Los Coche Bomba 5, Jersey Boys 5

Alfredo Aceves earned his second save in the series for the Jersey Boys Thursday but setup man Edward Mujica was touched for two runs while recording just two outs. With the WHIP and ERA categories tight, neither team can afford a pitching disaster. Andrew McCutchen and Jimmy Rollins were the heroes for Bomba Thursday. McCutchen went 3 for 4 with three RBI and two runs scored while Rollins hit a home run. Veteran Andy Pettitte will take the mound for the Jersey Boys tonight with an opportunity to break the Quality Start deadlock.

Scully's Slammers 5, The Bulls 4

Three categories - Runs, Home Runs, and Saves - are tied and will likely decide the winner over the final three days of this series. On Thursday, the Slammers earned just the second quality start for either team. James McDonald threw a complete game, allowing only one run and striking out five. Tyler Clippard also notched his second save with a scoreless inning. At the plate, six players failed to generate a hit for the Slammers though Mike Aviles and Matt Holliday each pushed across runs with sacrifice flies. Marco Scutaro went 2 for 3 to lead the Bulls. Zack Greinke and James Shields will pitch tonight for the Slammers and try to build on the team's Quality Start and Strikeout leads.

The Machine 6, Home Run 101 5

Yoenis Cespedes was the hero Thursday for the Machine with a walk-off, game-winning, three-run homer. It gave the team the RBI category lead and a two point lead in Home Runs. Reliever Joel Peralta, making his final appearance before serving a suspension for having too much pine tar on his glove, allowed two runs in an inning. Reliever Randy Choate earned a hold for Home Run 101 Thursday, earning the category lead. Jonny Gomes scored the team's only run. Rookie Jarrod Parker will pitch for the Machine tonight with a chance to expand the team's Quality Start advantage.

Give it a Yankee 6, Vicious Fishes 4

Prince Fielder hit a home run and Rafael Furcal scored Thursday to give the Fishes the category lead in Runs. They also tied the Saves category when Rafael Betancourt pitched a perfect ninth inning. Carlos Zambrano didn't help the team ERA and WHIP when he walked four, gave up five hits, and allowed three runs over five innings. Adrian Gonzalez scored the only run for Give it a Yankee Thursday. It's do-or-die for the Fishes tonight as Dan Haren, Jason Hammel, and Chris Sale are the team's last hope to close the gap in the pitching categories. Jonathon Niese will pitch for Give it a Yankee.

The Cys 9, Twinkle Toes 3

Where is the offense in this series? The teams have combined for three homers and 13 RBI over four days. The pitching hasn't been much better, with three combined quality starts and an average ERA in the mid-5s. On Thursday, Matt Moore allowed just two runs but couldn't make it past the fifth inning for the Cys. He did strike out six. Cliff Pennington, Matt Adams, and Michael Cuddyer combined to go 1 for 11 with two strikeouts for the Toes. With both teams desperate for a quality start, A.J. Burnett will take the mound tonight for the Cys while Ubaldo Jimenez toes the rubber for the Toes.

Bacon at Mile 11 8, Marin Menehunes 4

Bacon is dominating the offensive categories, leading all six through the first four days of the series. On the mound, this has been an ugly display. The two teams have combined for just one quality start and both ERA's are north of 6. Rod Barajas stepped up for Bacon Thursday, belting a home run and driving in two. Ryan Zimmerman struck out three times but managed to score a run and steal a base. Matt Belisle scored the first hold of the series for the Menehunes Thursday but Carlos Ruiz, Josh Willingham, Shane Victorino and Ben Zobrist combined to go 2 for 13 at the plate. Zobrist did score a run. Both teams seek redemption on the mound tonight. Anibal Sanchez and Cliff Lee will pitch for Bacon while Tim Lincecum starts for the Menehunes.

Lower Haighters 8, High Cheese 3

This series is poised for a Sunday Showdown as five of the six offensive categories are still up for grabs and both teams have been sensational on the mound. With team ERA's hovering near 2 and WHIP's below 1, any disaster on the mound could swing series momentum. On Thursday, it was the bat and legs of Giancarlo Stanton that made the difference for the Lower Haighters. Stanton homered, scored twice, and stole a base. Justin Morneau also stole a base while Trevor Plouffe, Jose Reyes, and Neil Walker each scored a run. Reliever Sean Burnett picked up his second hold of the series but Andrew Miller allowed a run in just .2 of an inning. High Cheese marched toward domination of the Quality Start category as Gio Gonzalez and Vance Worley combined to give up four runs over 13 innings while striking out six. At the plate, Ryan Doumit had an RBI. Homer Bailey and Joe Saunders will start tonight for High Cheese while Clayton Richard pitches for the Haighters.

The Machine, Slammers, and Bomba are facing upsets

The hot bat of Aramis Ramirez is keeping Home Run 101 in this week's series with the Machine. Ramirez is 5 for 10 with a .615 OBP, two home runs, and seven RBI. The team trails by just one in the Home Run and RBI categories, it's weakest areas. Now Ramirez needs some help at the plate in the final four days to help Home Run 101 pull off the upset.

The Machine 6, Home Run 101 4

David Ross and John Buck both hit home runs on Wednesday for Home Run 101 but it may have come at a cost. Buck exerted such effort on his first homer since mid-May that he may have pulled his hamstring. Lucas Duda also missed Wednesday's game for Home Run 101 with a tight hamstring. He shouldn't miss more than two games. Luke Scott is shooting for a Monday return after being out with a sore back. David Ortiz hit a grand slam home run for the Machine Wednesday while John Mayberry scored twice. Yoenis Cespedes returned to the lineup for the Machine following a hamstring injury and went 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI. He's played in just one game since June 7. On the mound, Gavin Floyd earned a rare quality start for the Machine while Jonathan Broxton earned his second save of the series. Unfortunately, Ricky Nolasco poisoned the team ERA and WHIP by allowing nine runs over 3.1 innings.

Bacon at Mile 11 8, Marin Menehunes 4

Jason Heyward homered twice, Justin Upton smacked a homer and drove in three runs, while Logan Morrison hit his second home run of the series and drove in his sixth run for Bacon on Wednesday. Despite the offensive explosion, the Menehunes are keeping the Home Run category close. Asdrubal Cabrera slapped his second long ball of the series Wednesday while Josh Willingham also went yard.
Trevor Cahill allowed six runs in six innings failing to give Bacon a chance to tie the Quality Start category but Jonny Venters and Bobby Parnell each added a hold in relief. Bacon received some bad news off the field, as it was announced Troy Tulowitzki will miss another six weeks after having arthroscopic groin surgery. Jerome Williams will also land on the Disabled List after going to the hospital with shortness of breath following Monday's start. The good news is closer Matt Capps should return from a sore shoulder by the weekend. Bartolo Colon will miss Saturday's start for the Menehunes with a strained oblique. That's a big strain. Anthony Bass also left Wednesday's start with shoulder inflammation.

Give it a Yankee 9, Vicious Fishes 2

Corey Hart hit a home run and stole a base Wednesday while Francisco Liriano struck out six over 6.2 innings to earn a quality start for Give it a Yankee. The team will send ace Clayton Kershaw to the mound this afternoon to try and build on its Quality Start and Strikeout leads. Derek Jeter hit a home run for the Fishes but Tommy Hanson was roughed up, allowing four runs over five innings. Closer Rafael Betancourt also blew a save, allowing a run while recording just two outs. The Fishes desperately need Carlso Zambrano to pitch well in today's start or they risk losing touch in the pitching categories.

A-Rod's Mirrors 6, HUMA 6

Justin Masterson, Jake Westbrook and Stephen Strasburg took control of the pitching categories Wedneday for the Mirrors. All three tossed quality starts and combined to throw 25 innings while allowing just two runs and striking out 24 batters. It was an awesome display. At the plate, Kyle Seager continued his tear, going 3 for 5 with a homer, two RBI, and two runs scored while Alex Rodriguez also went long. It wasn't all roses for the Mirrors on Wednesday, as it was announced that closer Jose Valverde will likely miss the rest of this series with a sprained wrist and Dustin Pedroia missed yesterday's game with a sore thumb. Kelvin Herrera earned the first hold of the series Wednesday and earned a point for HUMA while catchers Willin Rosario and Jarrod Saltalamacchia combined for five runs, four RBI, and two home runs. Jason Kubel also went long.

The Cys 9, Twinkle Toes 3

Martin Prado went 3 for 5 and blasted his fifth homer of the season Wednesday for the Cys while Yu Darvish struck out eight over eight innings in a quality start. Kendrys Morales also added a home run. Roy Oswalt will start Friday for the Rangers, giving the Cys another starter for next week's series. Ian Kinsler scored a run and stole two bases for Twinkle Toes Wednesday but the failure of Brian Matusz and Bronson Arroyo on the mound kept the team from grabbing the Quality Start category. Matusz and Arroyo combined to allow eight earned runs over 8.2 innings. Ryan Vogelsong held up his end of the bargain, earning a quality start with seven innings of three run ball while striking out six. The Cys can widen their lead in Strikeouts and Quality Starts when Matt Moore pitches today.

The Bulls 6, Scully's Slammers 4

Jason Vargas gave up five home runs Wednesday and was torched for 10 runs in 4.1 innings, dragging the Bulls ERA and WHIP to Hell. The team ERA now stands at 9.61 for the week. It's not all on Vargas, as Phil Hughes and Felix Doubront gave up 10 runs over 10.1 innings and closer Frank Francisco allowed a run in relief. Whew! Thankfully, Scott Downs earned a hold and Carlos Gonzalez returned to the lineup, going 2 for 4 with a stolen base. It also looks like Chris Carpenter is close to returning. He threw a fourth bullpen Wednesday and should throw batting practice this weekend. He's on track to return after the All-Star break. Mike Aviles hit a home run, drove in three, and scored twice for the Slammers, Yovani Gallardo earned a quality start and struck out seven, while Tyler Clippard had a save in relief. Joe Mauer missed another game Wednesday for the Slammers with a sore quad. It was also announced that Ross Detwiler will return to the starting rotation for the Nationals which will give the Slammers another starter for next week's series. Edwin Encarnacion homered in his third straight game for the Slammers. Sonavabench! James McDonald will pitch today with an opportunity for the team to take the Strikeout lead.

Jersey Boys 6, Los Coche Bomba 4

Aaron Hill and Freddie Freeman each hit home runs while Austin Jackson stole a base Wednesday as the Jersey Boys kept the pressure on Bomba. Freeman had three RBI and Hill scored twice. On the mound, Glen Perkins earned a save but Jonathan Papelbon gave up a run in relief. Just when the Jersey Boys catch fire, young third baseman Brett Lawrie exits Wednesday's game with knee soreness. The injury news is worse for Bomba, as Brandon Beachy will have Tommy John surgery Thursday and miss the rest of the season. That's another ace down. Another starter, Derek Holland, is targeting a July 1 return from a sore shoulder. On Wednesday, Bruce Chen couldn't pull a rabbit out of his aging hat, failing to earn a quality start when he couldn't finish the sixth inning. Greg Holland did earn a hold but Luis Perez was bombed for two runs in relief. At the plate, Robinson Cano hit a home run and Michael Bourn stole a base.

Lower Haighters 6, High Cheese 4

You better bring your Big Boy pants when you step to the plate in this series. These two teams have combined for 32 RBI and 32 runs scored in just three days. On Wednesday, Miguel Montero went 3 for 4 with a homer and four RBI for the Haighters while Ryan Braun homered and drove in two. High Cheese had another home run from Mark Trumbo, who also scored twice. On the mound, Jered Weaver pitched six scoreless innings to earn a quality start for High Cheese but young Tommy Milone was sitting on the bench when he finished his first complete game. Sonavabench! The Haighters also missed out on a quality start from veteran Erik Bedard. In the 'pen, Joe Nathan earned a save and Sean Burnett a hold for the Haighters. High Cheese should take command in this series today, as they have a full roster of offensive players scheduled to play and Gio Gonzalez and Vance Worley will both pitch. The Lower Haighters have just five position players and three relievers with games.

Colby Rasmus Carries Limping Bulls

Colby Rasmus hoisted the bedraggled Bulls on his back Tuesday night, trying to carry the injury-riddled team to victory. Rasmus went 2 for 5 with two home runs, two RBI, and two runs scored. He's scored three of the team's seven runs in the series and blasted two of its three homers. With Matt Kemp, Jonathon Lucroy, and Emilio Bonifacio still injured, Rasmus' contributions are welcomed for the Bulls.

The Bulls 7, Scully's Slammers 3
Rasmus isn't the only hero for the Bulls in the first two days of this series. Catcher Kelly Shoppach hit a home run Tuesday and drove in two runs and second baseman Ryan Theriot collected his third RBI of the series. On the mound, the bullpen was solid as Joaquin Benoit, James Russell, and Scott Downs combined to pitch two scoreless innings with Benoit and Russell earning holds. The Bulls also received good news from the injury ward. Outfielder Carlos Gonzalez will return to the lineup today after missing the first two days with a sore knee and pitcher Bud Norris is scheduled to make a rehab start on Saturday and could return to the rotation for the next series. The Slammers have their own injury concerns with Matt Holliday struggling with a sore hip flexor and Joe Mauer nursing a bruised right quad. Holliday was able to DH Tuesday and drove in a run. Carlos Peña drove in two runs with a homer while reliever Ross Detwiler pitched 3.2 perfect innings, striking out three. The Bulls have an opportunity to take command of the Quality Start and Strikeout categories tonight as Jason Vargas, Felix Doubront, and Phil Hughes all take the mound. The Slammers will pitch Yovani Gallardo.

The Cys 8, Twinkle Toes 2
C.J. Wilson walked a fine line Tuesday to earn a quality start for the Cys which was important as Edinson Volquez was having a meltdown. The Cys' starting pitchers are trying to take advantage of Jeremy Hellickson's absence from Twinkle Toes' lineup. He'll miss the next 15 days with shoulder fatigue. Wilson gave up three runs over 6.1 innings while Volquez was strafed for six runs over five innings. Closer Fernando Rodney earned a save for the Cys but Aroldis Chapman continued his rapid descent, allowing two runs in .1 inning while Brad Ziegler also gave up a run in relief. The Toes lost a quality start for veteran hurler Tim Hudson when he was forced to throw too many pitches by a tough Yankee lineup. Hudson allowed just two runs but couldn't make it past five innings. At the plate, Joaquin Arias led the Toes with three hits and a run while Raul Ibañez scored twice. The Toes received some bad news on the injury front when Evan Longoria was forced to shutdown his rehab assignment after aggravating his partially torn hamstring. Ichiro Suzuki and Melky Cabrera led the Cys offensively, combining for seven hits and three RBI. The Toes will try again tonight to seize the Quality Start and Strikeout categories when they pitch Bronson Arroyo, Brian Matusz, and Ryan Vogelsong. The Cys will start Yu Darvish.

Jersey Boys 5, Los Coche Bomba 3
Freddie Freeman returned to the lineup for the Jersey Boys Tuesday and paid immediate dividends by scoring a run and reaching base on a walk. The news on the pitching front wasn't as positive as Justin Verlander was the only starter of three to earn a quality start. Verlander only struck out three over 7 innings but allowed just one run. Hiroki Kuroda and Aaron Harrang, on the other hand, combined to give up seven runs over 10.2 innings. Curtis Granderson and Rickie Weeks didn't help at the plate, striking out a combined six times in nine plate appearances. Andrew McCutchen, Jimmy Rollins, and Pablo Sandoval combined for seven hits, four runs, and three RBI to lead Bomba. McCutchen also had a home run and a steal. Veteran soft-tosser Bruce Chen is on the mound for Bomba tonight with an opportunity to break the Quality Start tie.

Lower Haighters 6, High Cheese 6
Albert Pujols and Mark Trumbo brought the big lumber Tuesday night while both bullpens were lights out. Pujols and Ryan Braun combined to go 3 for 6 with five RBI, four runs, and a home run to lead the Haighters. On the other side, Trumbo and Paul Goldschmidt went 5 for 9 with eight RBI and three runs scored while Goldschmidt added a homer and a stolen base. Five relievers pitched for High Cheese, earning two saves and a hold. Tom Wilhelmsen and Ryan Cook each earned saves and Grant Balfour a hold without giving up a run. Of concern to the team is another blown save by closer John Axford, who allowed two runs in an inning. For the Haighters, Jacob McGee, Andrew Miller, and Ernesto Frieri combined to pitch 1.2 innings of scoreless ball and all earned holds. Jered Weaver will start for High Cheese tonight with an opportunity to tie the Quality Start category and seize Strikeouts.

Bacon at Mile 11 7, Marin Menehunes 5
Logan Morrison emerged from a season-long slumber for Bacon Tuesday, crushing a home run and driving in five RBI while Mike Trout went 4 for 4 with four runs scored. Light-hitting Brendan Ryan also got into the act, going 2 for 3 with a long ball, three RBI and two runs scored. Carlos Ruiz, Billy Butler, and Asdrubal Cabrera led the Menehunes, collecting a combined six hits, six RBI, and three runs. All three hit homers. Johan Santana led the Menehune pitching staff, striking out five over six scoreless innings for a quality start. Barry Zito and Clay Buchholz weren't as productive, giving up 13 runs over 9.1 innings. Casey Janssen and Carlos Marmol were perfect in the 'pen, giving up just one hit and one walk in a combined two innings while earning two saves. Bacon's ace, Lance Lynn, was roughed up Tuesday, giving up five runs in five innings. Closer J.J. Putz was also knocked around, allowing two runs in an inning. Bobby Parnell and Eric O'Flaherty rode to the rescue of the team ERA and WHIP, pitching two scoreless innings while collecting a pair of holds. Trevor Cahill will start tonight for Bacon, as the team looks to tie the Quality Start category and build on its Strikeout lead.

A-Rod's Mirrors 5, HUMA 4
Cole Hamels struck out seven over eight innings to earn a quality start and Kyle Seager belted a homer and knocked in four runs as the Mirrors rallied Tuesday. The 'pen was also solid as Craig Kimbrell and Chad Qualls tossed two scoreless innings with Kimbrell picking up a save. The bad news for the Mirrors was Dustin Pedroia leaving Tuesday's gave after apparently aggravating his thumb injury. For HUMA, Adrian Beltre and Gerardo Parra combined to go 5 for 8 with three RBI, four runs scored, and two home runs. There was some negative injury news at the plate as Mitch Moreland left Tuesday's game with a strained hamstring. Young Scott Diamond couldn't continue his stellar performance on the mound, allowing four runs over 5.1 innings while striking out just one batter. The Mirrors can build big advantages in Quality Starts and Strikeouts tonight as Stephen Strasburg, Jake Westbrook, and Justin Masterson all take the mound.

The Machine 5, Home Run 101 3
Aramis Ramirez, Lucas Duda and Ian Desmond each hit home runs Tuesday for Home Run 101 and combined to drive in seven RBI and score four runs. That would be an offensive explosion by Home Run 101's standards. In the 'pen, David Hernandez gave up a run while Vinnie Pestano pitched another scoreless inning. Jose Bautista continued to mash for the Machine Tuesday, blasting two home runs and scoring three times. David Ortiz and John Mayberry also went long and combined to drive in four runs. The Machine welcomed Cody Ross off the DL and he homered in his first day back. On the mound, the reviews were mixed for the Machine. Jake Peavy tossed a complete game to earn a quality start but Daniel Hudson was rocked for seven runs in just four innings. Hudson could lose his spot in the starting rotation for the Machine, as Brandon McCarthy was strong over seven innings Tuesday and looks healthy. The 'pen was solid for the Machine but not without controversy. Joel Peralta was ejected before throwing a pitch Tuesday when a foreign substance was found on his glove. The Machine will hope its ace setup man is not suspended. Jonathan Broxton and Francisco Rodriguez had less drama in their appearances with Broxton earning a save and Rodriguez a hold.

Vicious Fishes 6, Give it a Yankee 6
The Fishes had one pitcher in action Tuesday and David Price did not let the team down. He allowed three runs over seven innings, striking out four, to earn the quality start. At the plate, the team struggled, driving in just two runs and scoring twice. Nelson Cruz accounted for both RBI and one of the runs. Give it a Yankee's pitchers were excellent Tuesday. Luke Hochevar and Wandy Rodriguez allowed a combined two runs over 14.2 innings as both earned quality starts. Relievers Aaron Crow and Chris Perez were also perfect, with Crow earning a hold. At the plate, Michael Morse and Nick Swisher combined for four hits and four RBI with Morse hitting a home run. Tommy Hanson will start today for the Fishes and Francisco Liriano for Give it a Yankee.

Jersey Boys Rally Around Veteran Pitchers, Hot Bats

The Jersey Boys have come alive. Over the past two weeks, pitcher R.A. Dickey has been the best player in fantasy baseball, tossing 25.1 innings of scoreless baseball while striking out 33 batters and earning three quality starts. Veteran Andy Pettitte also has three quality starts, allowing just four runs in his last 20.1 innings.

But this June run by the Jersey Boys wouldn't be as successful without the hot bats, as Los Coche Bomba discovered Monday.

Jersey Boys 8, Los Coche Bomba 2

Aaron Hill hit for the cycle Monday as the Jersey Boys jumped out to the early lead over Bomba. The sizzling Alfonso Soriano hit another home run and Brett Lawrie had a home run and a stolen base for the Jersey Boys. Matt Garza and Matt Harrison both had quality starts for Bomba but that may be it for the week. Starters Brandon Beachy, Derek Holland, and Alexi Ogando are all on the DL with various injuries. The Jersey Boys can steal another point from Bomba tonight when Justin Verlander, Hiroki Kuroda, and Aaron Harang all take the mound. Final Prediction: Jersey Boys 7, Los Coche Bomba 5.

HUMA 11, A-Rod's Mirrors 0

The Mirrors are running headlong into a red-hot Joey Votto. In his last 13 games, Votto has gone 22 for 49 with four home runs, 12 RBI, and 11 runs scored. On Monday, he was at it again, smashing another homer and scoring twice. The Mirrors are coming off a 4-7-1 loss to the Slammers (a loss that was accurately predicted by the BaseballMonster.com Oracle) and need to gain ground in a division that resembles a Three Stooges episode. They'll go with just four starting pitchers this week which makes tonight's start by Cole Hamels critical. The surprising Scott Diamond will take the mound tonight and try to sweep up the mess made of HUMA's ERA by Mat Latos. Final Prediction: HUMA 9, A-Rod's Mirrors 3.

High Cheese 4, Lower Haighters 3

Jay Bruce homered, scored three times, and drove in two runs while John Axford was solid in relief, earning a save, as High Cheese jumped to the early lead over the Lower Haighters. CC Sabathia pitched a complete game to earn a rare quality start for the Haighters on Monday, who are going with a four-man starting rotation this week. Joe Nathan also earned a save. Neither team will have a starter on the mound tonight, which means the bullpens will guard the ERA and WHIP. Final Prediction: Lower Haighters 10, High Cheese 2.

Home Run 101 6, The Machine 2

Wade Miley struck out eight and earned a quality start while setup men Sergio Romo and Vinnie Pestano each scored holds with scoreless relief pitching as Home Run 101 jumped to the lead over the Machine Monday night. Matt Cain failed to repeat his perfect game for the Machine Monday and failed to earn a quality start, which is rare. Jake Peavy and Daniel Hudson will have an opportunity to give the Machine the Quality Start and Strikeout lead when they pitch tonight. At the plate, Jose Bautista and Shin-Soo Choo both homered for the Machine. Final Prediction: The Machine 8, Home Run 101 4.

Bacon at Mile 11 9, Marin Menehunes 2

Bacon had an opportunity Monday to steal the Quality Start lead but Hector Noesi and Jerome Williams both stumbled. That opens the door for the Menehunes, who start Johan Santana, Barry Zito, and Clay Buchholz tonight. Lance Lynn, who has turned into the ace of the staff for Bacon, also gets a start. Mike Trout continues to impress for Bacon, stealing three bases Monday. Final Prediction: Bacon at Mile 11 6, Marin Menehunes 6.

The Cys 5, Twinkle Toes 2

The Cys benched wunderkind shortstop Starlin Castro and he responded Monday with a home run, three runs and two RBI. Sonavabench! On the mound, Brett Myers was shelled for Twinkle Toes, finishing the night with a 67.50 ERA and 12.00 WHIP. It's safe to say this series is off to a rollicking start. The Cys will pitch C.J. Wilson against the bulk of the Toes offense tonight, along with Edinson Volquez. Veteran Tim Hudson will start for the Toes. Final Prediction: The Cys 7, Twinkle Toes 5.

Vicious Fishes 7, Give it a Yankee 2

Home runs by Bryan LaHair and Paul Konerko and three RBI from Derek Jeter have the Fishes out to a fast start. Chris Perez had a save Monday to lead Give it a Yankee. Both teams are fighting injuries on the mound. Drew Smyly and Josh Beckett are on the DL for Give it a Yankee while relievers Javy Guerra and Henry Rodriguez are hurt for the Fishes. David Price starts tonight for the Fishes while Wandy Rodriguez and Luke Hochevar pitch for Give it a Yankee. Final Prediction: Vicious Fishes 8, Give it a Yankee 4.

The Bulls 7, Scully's Slammers 1

Veteran second baseman Ryan Theriot drove in two runs and stole a base while Santiago Casilla earned a save to lift the Bulls to an early lead over the Slammers in the week's only meeting of division leaders. Mark Teixeira hit a home run for the Slammers as did Edwin Encarnacion, who was sitting in the dugout. Sonavabench! Each team will have a starter on the mound tonight. Mark Buehrle throws for the Slammers while Shaun Marcum is scheduled to take the hill for the Bulls, though it's possible Marcum's start could be skipped due to injury. Final Prediction: Scully's Slammers 9, The Bulls 3.

Starting Pitching Powers the Slammers

James Shields became the fifth pitcher to earn a quality start for the Slammers as the team has pitched its way ahead of the Mirrors heading into the final day of the series. Zack Greinke, Shields, and James McDonald combined to give up just two earned runs over 20.2 innings for the Slammers. They also combined to strikeout 18 batters. Scully's Slammers 6, A-Rod's Mirrors 5 Zack Greinke will make his second start for the Slammers today with main objective being to avoid a meltdown. The Mirrors will try to hold on to narrow leads in Saves, Stolen Bases, and RBI while making gains in runs. Both teams need a setup man to step up. A hold would be huge for either team. HUMA 9, Vicious Fishes 3 The Fishes have earned nothing from the bullpen this week but they'll need a reliever to protect the narrow two point advantage in Strikeouts the team currently holds. Neither team has a starter on the mound today. Jon Lester and Jordan Zimmerman each earned quality starts Saturday for HUMA, giving the team the category win. Joey Votto has been the star of the series for HUMA, driving in six runs and scoring four more. Jersey Boys 9, Bacon at Mile 11 3 The Jersey Boys are suddenly on a roll. Andy Pettitte earned a quality start yesterday to give the Jersey Boys the category win. Jesse Crain scored the first hold of the series yesterday for Bacon. Austin Jackson has been a difference maker for the Jersey Boys this week, driving in seven runs and scoring four more. The Machine 8, Give it a Yankee 3 With the teams tied in home runs and the Machine holding a narrow three point lead in RBI, a hitter on a home run binge could change the look of this series today. Jose Bautista and John Mayberry both have two homers in the series for the Machine. The Cys 6, The Bulls 4 Four offensive categories are up for grabs today so the series will be decided at the plate. Adam Dunn has made a big difference for the Cys this week, smashing three homers. Carlos Gonzalez has just one for the Bulls but has the potential to lift the Bulls to a series win. Los Coche Bomba 6, Home Run 101 6 Josh Johnson, Colby Lewis and Johnny Cueto will start for Home Run 101 today, trying to avoid disasters. The team owns the lead in five of the six pitching categories but Bomba could earn category wins in ERA and WHIP if Home Run stumbles. Bomba will try to hold on to narrow one point leads in Home Runs and Stolen Bases on the final day. High Cheese 7, Marin Menehunes 4 High Cheese will try to protect a one point lead in Strikeouts when Adam Wainwright takes the mound today. The Menehunes will start Max Scherzer and Bartolo Colon with an eye toward earning the point. The Menehunes could also steal the Quality Start category and possibly WHIP if Scherzer and Colon pitch well. Twinkle Toes 7, Lower Haighters 5 The Lower Haighters will try to protect narrow leads in OBP and Home Runs while Twinkle Toes will do the same in Holds. The Lower Haighters gained the lead in Home Runs with four on Saturday, including two from Ryan Braun.

Matt Cain is a Machine

He was the Terminator Wednesday night. A machine for the Machine. Matt Cain's perfect game has given the Machine category leads in WHIP, ERA, Strikeouts and provided the third Quality Start of the week for the team. It was a series-defining performance. The Machine 7, Give it a Yankee 4 The Machine has the lead in every pitching category. Cain, Ricky Nolasco and Jake Peavy all own quality starts. Matt Thornton, Francisco Rodriguez, and Antonio Bastardo have holds and Jonathan Broxton a save. Brandon Phillips and Chris Davis have been the offensive stars of the series, combining for three homers and eight RBI. The Machine could take complete command of the pitching categories today as Gavin Floyd, Jarrod Parker, and Daniel Hudson start. Wandy Rodriguez and Luke Hochevar start for Give it a Yankee. Marin Menehunes 8, High Cheese 3 Both teams are struggling to find offense in this series. They've combined for three homers and 10 RBI in three days. Josh Willingham's two home runs have given the Menehunes narrow leads in three of the six offensive categories while Chris Johnson owns the only stolen base for either team. Starts from Barry Zito and Johan Santana today could give the team big advantages in the key pitching categories, making High Cheese's margin for error very narrow entering the weekend. The Bulls 5, The Cys 3 Brandon Inge now has five of the Cys' seven RBI and is keeping the team close in the offensive categories. Daniel Murphy has been the key offensive contributor for the Bulls, tallying four RBI in three days. They Cys will try to maintain their Quality Start lead when Edinson Volquez pitches today. The Bulls will send Shaun Marcum to the hill to try and maintain the Strikeout lead and close the gap in Quality Starts. HUMA 6, Vicious Fishes 4 Scott Diamond, one of the best free agent acquisitions of the season, will take the hill today searching for a quality start that would give HUMA the category lead. Diamond could help the team wrestle the Strikeout lead away from the Fishes as well. This has not been a good series offensively, with the two teams combining for two home runs and 11 RBI. Bacon at Mile 11 6, Jersey Boys 5 The pitching in this series has been senational. Lance Lynn and R.A. Dickey have both registered 12 strikeout performances. The offensive categories are close and one big night at the plate for either team could break the scoring open. J.J. Hardy has scored four times for the Jersey Boys while Mike Trout and Brian McCann have led Bacon. Justin Verlander will pitch today for the Jersey Boys with an opportunity to build the lead in Strikeouts and Quality Starts. Los Coche Bomba 6, Home Run 101 6 Home Run 101 desperately needs to hold on to its pitching advantage because the offense remains on life support. The team has scored just five times this week, with Ian Desmond and Alcides Escobar combining for four of those runs. Todd Helton has been on fire for Bomba, smashing two homers and five RBI in three days. Neither team has a starter on the mound today. A-Rod's Mirrors 7, Scully's Slammers 4 Jake Westbrook will start today with an opportunity to tie the Quality Start category for the Mirrors. The Mirrors have launched an all-out offensive assault in this series, blasting five homers, driving in 16 runs, and scoring 16 more in the first three days. Alex Rodriguez has drivin in five runs while Denard Span has scored four times. Twinkle Toes 8, Lower Haighters 2 Gregor Blanco, Michael Cuddyer and Seth Smith all homered Wednesday as Twinkle Toes tallied four homers, eight RBI and nine runs scored to take control of the offensive stats. The Haighters are looking for a big performance from one of its stars to climb back into this series. The bullpen has been stellar for the Haighters. The team scored three saves Wednesday as four relievers pitched perfectly. Jeremy Hellickson can grab two more categories - Quality Starts and Strikeouts - when he pitches today for Twinkle Toes.

Bumgarner Fans a Dozen, Pitchslaps Bud Norris

Madison Bumgarner made it look easy Tuesday night. He struck out 12 Astros over 7.2 innings, allowing just six hits and one run. Bumgarner's start kept the Strikeout and Quality Start categories tied for Twinkle Toes, despite having one less starter on the mound. In addition to his pitching exploits, Bumgarner pitchslapped Bud Norris before the latter limped off the mound after 3.1 innings, having given up three earned runs and the ultimate disgrace, a home run to an opposing pitcher.

Twinkle Toes 6, Lower Haighters 1

The teams are tied in Strikeouts and Quality starts but four of the five starters have pitched for the Lower Haighers while only two starters have climbed the mound for the Toes. Brian Matusz and Tim Hudson could give the Toes a big advantage in both categories when they start tonight. Second baseman Neil Walker has been the offensive star of the series, belting a home run and driving in three runs for the Haighters on Tuesday. Seth Smith has two RBI for the Toes.

High Cheese 8, Marin Menehunes 3

Adam Jones has a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored for High Cheese while the bullpen has been perfect to start the series. Setup men Steve Cishek and Grant Balfour both have holds and have combined to strikeout four batters while Ryan Cook has a save for High Cheese. The Menehunes rode their thrill ride of a starting pitching staff to great heights Tuesday as Max Scherzer and Clay Buchholz combined to strikeout 17 batters as each earned quality starts. Josh Willingham has hit a home run while Carlos Ruiz has scored twice to lead the team at the plate. Rookie Tommy Milone starts tonight for High Cheese, trying to build on the momentum established by Tuesday's quality start from Adam Wainwright.

Home Run 101 6, Los Coche Bomba 5

Predictably, Bomba is dominating at the plate but Home Run 101 is holding its own on the mound, making this a tight series. A.J. Pierzynski and Todd Helton have both hit home runs for Bomba while Jimmy Rollins has tallied two RBI. Andrew McCutchen and Michael Bourn each have a stolen base. Home Run 101 is 3-for-3 in Quality Start attempts in brilliant fashion. Colby Lewis, Johnny Cueto, and Josh Johnson have allowed just three combined runs over 25 innings while striking out 21 batters. The 'pen has also been perfect with Sergio Romo and Cory Wade each scoring a hold and Randy Choate striking out the only batter he's faced. Matt Garza and Matt Harrison will start tonight for Bomba while Wade Miley takes the hill for Home Run 101.

A-Rod's Mirrors 7, Scully's Slammers 5

The Mirrors are dominating the offensive statistics in this series through brute force but the Slammers are keeping it close thanks to brilliant pitching. The Mirrors have five home runs in two days. Alex Rodriguez, Bryce Harper, and Denard Span have each scored three times while Rodriguez also has four RBI. Quality starts from Zack Greinke and Mark Buehrle have given the Slammers the early pitching lead but it's the effort by the 'pen that has the Mirrors in a real pitching hole. Four relievers have combined to pitch 4.1 scoreless innings with Tyler Clippard, Jim Johnson, and Heath Bell all earning saves while Ross Detwiler has a hold. The Mirrors will make a run at the Quality Start and Strikeout categories tonight when Cole Hamels, Stephen Strasburg, and Kevin Correia pitch.

The Cys 5, The Bulls 4

Young Felix Doubront has a lot riding on his shoulders for the Bulls tonight. Chris Capuano, Bud Norris, and Jason Vargas have all failed to earn quality starts this week and the team is falling behind. Doubront needs a quality start to keep the Bulls competitive in the pitching categories. The Cys are 2-for-3 on QS attempts, with Mike Minor impressively negotiating a tough Yankee lineup to earn his Tuesday. C.J. Wilson will face the Dodgers tonight for the Cys. Offensively, Brandon Inge is the star of the series, hitting a homer, scoring twice, and driving in two runs for the Cys.

The Machine 5, Give it a Yankee 5

Darwin Barney and a strong performance from the bullpen have rallied the Machine. Barney is a pest. On Tuesday, he drove in three runs, scored once, and stole a base. Jose Bautista has added a homer and a stolen base for the Machine, which leads just two offensive categories - Stolen Bases and RBI. Chris Davis and Nick Swisher have both hit home runs and knocked in two RBI for Give it a Yankee but the inability of Josh Beckett and Garrett Richards to earn quality starts could be important later in the week. It's a big night on the mound for the Machine tonight as Matt Cain, Ricky Nolasco, and Jake Peavy all pitch with an opportunity to give the team the Quality Start and Strikeout category leads.

Jersey Boys 4, Bacon at Mile 11 4

Both teams are sputtering out of the gate offensively. J.J. Hardy has scored twice for the Jersey Boys while Austin Jackson returned to the lineup Tuesday and promptly drove in two runs. The team has yet to go deep. Logan Morrison and Mike Trout both have home runs for Bacon and have provided the bulk of the team's offense. Aaron Harang's quality start and a save from Alfredo Aceves have given the Jersey Boys two early pitching points. Both teams have two starters on the mound tonight. Hiroki Kuroda and R.A. Dickey toe the rubber for the Jersey Boys while Lance Lynn and Hector Noesi start for Bacon.

HUMA 9, Vicious Fishes 2

The bullpen and five RBI from Joey Votto and Mitch Moreland have given HUMA the early lead in this series. A save from Kenley Jansen and a hold from Craig Stammen have given HUMA two points that will be difficult for the Fishes to match with two injured relievers on the roster. A.J. Ellis and Alex Gordon have each scored twice for the Fishes while Ellis and Paul Konerko each have a .750 OBP in the series. Mat Latos will pitch for HUMA tonight while David Price start for the Fishes.
